Starting next week the following scheduler changes will apply.
1) Forcing fights will be eliminated
2) Challenges will be eliminated.
In their place a new scheduling mechanism will be implemented. We're going old school.
Default Scheduling Is Weekly - Fighters who do not change any settings will continue to fight on the familiar weekly cycle.
Optional Faster Scheduling - Fighters can optionally fight as frequently as every hour if a valid opponent (bot or human) is available. Human opponents are always matched first.
Matchmaker Runs Every 5 Minutes - The matchmaker evaluates eligible fighters on a 5-minute cycle. When a fighter meets their prep-time and frequency requirements, the system attempts to find an opponent immediately.
Resolver Runs Every 5 Minutes - Resolved fights are processed on the same interval, keeping the flow continuous rather than tied to a single daily batch.
Opponent Selection Rules - The system checks for human opponents first. If none are available, bot opponents may be used to keep activity steady.
Cool-Down on Failed Attempts - If no suitable opponent is available, the fighter enters a brief cool-down period. This prevents constant retrying and avoids any potential abuse of the matching process.
Summary
Prep time and fight frequency determine when a fighter becomes eligible.
The system looks for opponents every 5 minutes.
Fights can still be weekly by default, or hourly for those who want faster action.
If no match is found, the fighter is retried only after the cool-down expires.
This keeps scheduling predictable while allowing players who want higher activity to opt in without affecting overall fairness.
