9/11

Posted 2012/09/11 8:58 AM by J.Aaron Hall

I will always remember where I was when it happened. And now I've spent the last 9 years of my life in the US Army because of what some religious fanatics did. I don't regret a moment of it, I do it in the memory of those who died at ground zero, I do it so my three kids hopefully will not ever see something like that happen in their life time. All the thanks goes not to those of us who have came and gone from combat alive but with the souls of my brothers and sisters in arms, reguardless of their branch of service who are not here with me.

Thank you for your service. Because no matter what branch, every one of you make a difference in this country's favor.

That you very much for your service, JAH! God bless you and keep you safe!

(I served 4+ in the USAF)

Much love, JAH. All who have served deserve at least that. As do the families of those who were lost. I almost enlisted right out of high school, and quite frankly, I didn't have the stones. The additional developments since your original post have once again reminded me how fragile all of this is. I will never forget where I was on 9/11, and it seems weird not to have done more to reflect on what was lost that day.

My closest cousin Cindi and her husband from Mass. went to New York that week in 2001 to visit friends that had recently moved there.
They had a big schedule of things to do. Just fun stuff. One was to go to the towers first after an early breakfast then have lunch later. This was planned for 9/11/ 2001. But one of her friends got very sick on 9/9 and left early. So they all did the towers on 9/10/2001. And then did the lunch they planned. But a day early. They were driving back home across maybe the George Washington bridge going home when it all happened. That's the only reason they got home that day because they closed everything in or out after. And also why they are still with us.

Very close call. Not God, Not destiny. Just luck.
