Who's Who in the Top 5
1. "Fast Punching" Camacho-35-7-2 (18/1)-Rated 19. To put it simply: he's too damn good for any fighter to even challenge him for the title...for one more week.
2. Reijo Hammar-30-15-6 (11/6)-Rated 15. Despite last week's draw with Angus Bangalot, he still moved up in the rankings, as Joop Braakhekke and Keith 'The King' Mason retired. He's gone 1-2-2 in his last five fights, and hopes for a title are dim, but a win over Wesley Snipes next week could re-kindle that hope.
3. Wesley Snipes-30-18-2 (27/13)-Rated 14. He wasn't dubbed fighter of the week for no reason! This slugger's got it all, including the honor of fighting Reijo Hammar next week, in what looks to be an interesting fight. Wesley Snipes may have the slight style advantage. Last week he KO'd Sideswipe in the 11th round, and hopes to KO his next opponent.
4. Fragmented Fish-33-19-7 (1/7)-Rated 14. A new face here in the straws, but he looks to be a promising dancer. His last was over a year ago, but that doesn't keep him from contending for the title. His next fight is against the another returning face in the straws, Turoki Sarong. Slugger vs. Slapper, but whose style will outmatch the other's? It's a tough call, but I'll take Turoki Sarong here, but I also wouldn't be surprised to see Fragmented Fish come out victorious.
5. Turoki Sarong-36-23-1 (22/9)-Rated 14. This fighter is back in the straws after a short 1-week period in the flys. He is one of the remaining two sluggers in the top five and has a fight next week with Fragmented Fish. His opponent is loaded down with agility and speed, while he's focused more on strength. I'll take Turoki Sarong here by KO cause Franky's experience with these fights.
SNS Fighter of the Week
This week's award goes to Wesley Snipes, who has gone 4-1-1 in his last six starts. He is managed by Jim Profit and is currently ranked 3rd in the world. What I noticed about this fighter was that he was 2-4 in the beginning of his career after a slow start and a fighter that most managers would dump (including me). However, Jim Profit stuck with his young slugger and has turned him into a title contender with a very high potential. Over his career, he has compiled an impressive record of 30-18-2 (27/13), and hopes to improve it next week in his matchup with Reijo Hammar. This fight marks the first time these two have met and I hope to see Wesley Snipes come away with a KO victory here, and move up in the rankings, giving more hope to Jim Profit of a world title. Well done Wesley Snipes on becoming the third SNS Fighter of the Week.
