Wetsell joined Riblet's Gym in midsummer of '99 and was, as Riblet put it, "The worst boxer ever to walk anywhere man has taken a step in it's long and lustrous history" Strangely enough, this inspired Wetsell to work far harder and after only three more months, to actually win a sparring round against the second worst boxer in the gym.

The improvements then began to come, slowly at first but accelerating to a feverish pace. Wetsell has now improved to being a real professional boxer, and with a lot of potential. But of course anyone starting on the bottom always has potential.
