Fighter Description

Virgil owned a small grocery at the top of my street. He sold most everything a modern day 7-11 does, except he had the idea in 1968. Now, Virgil, also pumped gas, making him a full service 7-11, try finding one of those nowadays. I was seven years old when Virgil first extended me credit, I would buy coatfulls of Now-Laters and other candy to peddle on the bus. Ya see, Virgil Hodges also used to be right beside my bus stop. It wasn`t long before I had every kid on the bus hooked on now-laters and my wallet was FAT! Virgil`s was the place to go to get moonpies, Nehi`s and read the National Enquirer. The place to stop in and grab a soda after playing baseball in the sandlot all day. We did that back then you know? None of this lollygagging internet or Sega. Virgil passed away about two months after closing his store to retire. He lives on in the minds of everybody from Lewisville, NC. This fighter is dedicated to Virgil.
