Fighter Description
Born: April 22, 1975, in New Westminster, British Columbia.
Hometown: Maple Ridge, British Columbia.
Highlights: Youngest driver to win a CART race (22 years, one month and 10 days) in 1997. Finished fifth in driver's standings in 1998. Five career victories.
Fellow native British Columbian, Moore's friend and a star at Moore's second favourite sport, Paul Kariya:
"We both had made it in our sports and it's sad, We spent some time together at the All-Star Game in Vancouver (in 1998). He was in a dangerous sport and unfortunately, sometimes those things happen. It's just a tragedy."
Fellow CART driver, Adrian Fernandez:
"Greg was such a good friend of ours. We've been racing for a while and shared so many good moments on and off the track."
Fellow Canadian CART driver, Paul Tracy:
"We all remember Greg on the grid. He was sitting there in his car with a gimp hand, smiling and ready for the race, ready to go out there and try to win it. His spirit was that way. He wouldn't give up a chance to get in the car, even if his leg was hanging off. He was a guy who always had a smile on his face. He had a great spirit."
Fellow CART driver, Christian Fittipaldi:
"Greg will be missed a lot, everywhere, inside the track, outside the track and hanging out with us."
