In 1980, the 18 year old Vince Spence (above, right) captured Olympic Gold in the 130lb. division. He opted not to turn pro to pursue a career as a lawyer. After successfully defending Lucky Luciano numerous times, Spence was disbarred for taking money under the table. Knowing his boxing background, Lucky asked Spence if he wanted to fight for him. Spence, still in good shape, said yes and embarked on his pro boxing career at the age of 35.
