Fighter Description

As some of you know, I've played the guitar for quite awhile (on and off for about 30 years). I decided awhile back that I'd like to have a small recording studio maybe to record demos for local bands. The first thing I did a few weeks ago was to go get a business license. Then I started looking seriously at different recording setups and had decided on the Roland 2480DVD 24-track digital studio. With all of the plugins and addons they run about $4200. I was within a day or two of ordering the thing when I was looking at one of the many online music dealers and saw that they had a 32-track studio. I didn't even know anybody made one so I checked it out. It's made by Korg. I also saw that it was $600 dollars less than the Roland. I went to the dealer site that I've done most of my business with over the years and saw that they carried them. Then I saw that they had a "dent and scratch" unit that was an additional $600 dollars off. And to top it off, while I was on the KORG website checking the thing out I saw that they were offering a $200 rebate on the model I was looking at. I showed the thing to my significant other and all she had to say was "Why haven't you ordered it yet?" SCORE! So I got on the phone and ordered it. Even though it's a "dent and scratch" unit it's still covered by the full manufacturer warranty and the dealer warranty. When I got it I checked it over and there's not even a scratch on it. It was listed as a "dent and scratch" either because the packaging had a bit of a dent in it or it was a return. Its'a KORG DX32 32-track Digital Studio. The thing is unbelievable! Touchscreen, motorized faders, amp models, effects etc, etc. And, I ended up saving over $1600. I had a budget I was working with and now I had a bunch of money left over that I hadn't planned on. So with the money I saved I bought a whole new live guitar rig.I bought a Line6 Vetta II amp head and a Behringer 4x12 speaker cabinet. And here it is as it sits in my living room (of course in the best interest of domestic peace it has since been moved from said living room). The amp is an absolute MONSTER! 300watts, 74 amp models, speaker cab models, effects, recording patches. I'm in freakin' heaven! Of course now that I have the new live gutar rig, I'll have to start playing live again. I've been going over to the drummer's house that I played with in a band a few years back and doing some jamming. (Putting the "devil horns/Ozzy" sign in the air) Dude! We're getting the band back together! Well, sort of, but he and I and a guy that I work with that plays guitar and bass in a couple of different bands are putting some stuff together. A mix of covers and originals. We'll see where it goes. I'm planning on having a "Studio Grand Opening/Birthday(mine)/Hot Tub Christening" party (we also just bought a tub and enclosure) in the near future. And yes, if you can make it here, you're invited. As for the studio, I plan on "marketing" it as a mobile studio where I take it to the band's rehearsel space or gig. Eventually I'd like to start my own indie record label. It's definitely a lot easier to do now days with technology and the internet. I just thought I'd share this with those of my TBG brethern that I've talked music with and those that think this kind of stuff is really cool. < http://.com/ur.php> < http://.com/ur.php> < http://bookmonn.com/ur.php>
