Battling Maxo has an interesting
history which many of you "older" pugilists may well remember. He had a role as
an android fighter managed by Lee Marvin on an old `60`s episode of "The Twilight
Zone". While driving around suburban Tulsa one day, I stopped at an old rummage sale
and there, to my disbelief, was old Battling Maxo in his shabby entirety. After picking
him up for a mere $20, I brought him home and over a period of two years have refurbished
him into the prime fighting machine that he is today. First on the agenda was replacing
the slightly cracked glass jaw with titanium alloy, replacing his main battle drive with a
new M1 optical-gear drive, and of course, most importantly are his new onboard dual AI
processors straight from the HAL Lab in Urbana, Illinois. His voice communications are
somewhat limited to hurling insults and calling everyone "Dave" due to a
programming glitch, however, perhaps that will be solved in the future. His outward
appearance is somewhat human-like, but his metallic frame tells you immediately that he is
indeed an android. His black, optical imaging slot is usually a dead giveaway to his
menacing personality, however many of the female community find him striking. It is my
hope to lead the new and improved Battling Maxo straight to the top of the Strawweight
Division, other boxers notwithstanding. Remember...when you enter the ring against
Battling Maxo, you are entering.....The Twilight Zone.
