Come One! Come
All!
...To the
greatest show in TBG. You have never seen the visions which
you are about to partake upon. From the skinniest fighters to
the biggest big man in all the land, from the depths of the darkest
imaginations of hell bent animals to the invisible silhouettes of a
floating butterfly, The Far 'Botton' Rung is proud to present to you
the next tournament 'FREAKS'!
The prize
for winning this tournament is the chance to create your very own
in-game freak by pushing the boundaries of the fighter creator
beyond what is currently allowed. Aaron has agreed to allow
the winner to create his very own in-game freak. "53 points
allocated any way someone wants, including negative points."
It is your chance to create a fighter which is rare among the TBG
environment, to manage the future of which very few have the chance
too. Win this tournament and you have the chance to make TBG
history with a prize that should prove to be valuable. You may
have one... you may have bought one before... you may never have
even seen one before... but you'll have a chance to create your very
own freak by winning 'FREAKS'.
Each
manager participating will need to create
and then RETIRE two types of fighters. Create one
Bantam Weight fighter that is 6'0 or over. The second fighter
will be a Heavy Weight that is 5'0 or under. Once you have
created these two fighters and RETIRED them, submit both
their names in the CBOX, making sure you use your TBG member name in
the name box so we can recognize you. The names of your
fighters can be anything that you like, once I link your fighter
I'll be able to check on them regularly.
There will
be a point system setup for this tournament that is going to be
based off the scoring of the judges at the end of the fight.
The points will be highly important throughout the tournament, and
the tournament will end with a surprise
playoff between the top 3 managers. I will produce a
commentary once every week that
will cover both fights from all the managers participating.
There will be a table that will track the weeks points and some
little goodies here and there.
All three
judge's ending score will be averaged together and then the winner's
score will be subtracted from the loser's score to give the basis of
what points that weeks fight had in positive or negative points for
your freak. Knocking your opponent out with your freak will
get you 15 points, if your freak is knocked out you lose 15 points.
Draws will receive 0 points. Both freak's score will be added
together to determine the weeks over all score.
The
beginning of the tournament will be determined by the amount of pros
who sign up. Once the list hits about 10 then I will start the
count down to begin the tournament. At that point is when I'll
let you know to un-retire your freaks and the show will begin.
Remember to be clear about who you are and what your two fighter's
names are when submitting them to the CBOX below.
I wish
everyone luck who is participating... I personally believe this is a
huge opportunity to have something very original and special in TBG...
a true in the game FREAK!

Rule Update
5/30/07
It seems I
was dim enough not to consider a disqualification. Alamo has shown
me yet another error in my way as his bantam weight freak was
disqualified in the third round.
Here is my
thoughts about this rule. There is strategy in the notion of trying
to be disqualified to avoid a sure KO, and then there is the measure
of freaks needing to be a little dirty . If you lose by
disqualification, the fight is scored at an automatic -12 point
loss, however, for every round that your freak won will be
subtracted from the -12 score.
Examples:
If your freak is disqualified in the tenth round and you won 5 of
those rounds, your -12 point score for disqualification will lowered
5 points for the five rounds your freak won, giving your freak a
score of -7. If your freak is DQ'ed in the first round there is the
automatic deduction of -12 for the di
